SWISS’s new long-haul aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER, will be deployed for the first time on services between Zurich and Miami in the 2016/17 winter schedules. From 30 October onwards, the route will see one of its two Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday flights operated with Boeing 777-300ER equipment. The new Boeing 777-300ER will also be operated on SWISS’s Zurich-San Francisco route from 16 February 2017, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday frequencies. Services between Zurich and Singapore, which are currently provided using Boeing 777-300ER equipment three days a week, will become a daily Boeing 777 operation from 3 March 2017.
Furthermore, SWISS is to replace a further Airbus A340-300 with a Boeing 777-300ER. And the five remaining A340s in the SWISS fleet are to be provided with a totally new cabin product, including a new inflight entertainment system and internet connectivity. As a result, by the end of 2018 the entire SWISS long-haul fleet will be equipped with wireless internet facilities in all three cabin classes.
