Change travel plans at any time - Lufthansa Group airlines to extend rebooking options without a change fee through 31 August 2021

Anyone planning a business trip in the coming weeks and months can continue to rely on the Lufthansa Group airlines’ flexible rebooking options. All our fares and tickets can be rebooked. This applies to short-, medium-, and long haul routes and for existing bookings, new bookings and to cancelled flights.

If one or more flights of your trip are cancelled, you have the following options:

  1. If possible, we will rebook you once free of charge to an alternative flight to the same destination and in the same travel class. The rebooking must be made within the period of ticket validity (usually one year from the original departure date). To do so, please contact our Service Center or your travel agency as soon as possible.

  2. All tickets issued before or on 31 July 2021, with a travel date between 01 February 2020 and 31 August 2021, can in addition be exchanged once to a new travel, including changes to your travel class, departure or destination airport *. New travel must start latest by 31 July 2022. The ticket will be recalculated and additional payment may be required if the new fare is higher. To do so, please contact our Service Center or your travel agency by 31 August 2021 and have your ticket number ready.

If your flight is not cancelled but you would like to change your travel plans, you have the following options:

  1. You may generally change your travel date once without a change fee. An additional payment may be required if the fare for the new flight is higher. The rebooking must be made prior to the original scheduled travel date. Please go to My Bookings to change your travel online or contact your travel agency. 2.    All tickets issued before or on 31 July 2021, with a travel date between 01 February 2020 and 31 August 2021, can be exchanged once to a new travel, including changes to your travel class, departure or destination airport *. New travel must start latest by 31 July 2022. The ticket will be recalculated and additional payment may be required if the new fare is higher. To do so, please contact our Service Center or your travel agency by 31 August 2021 and have your ticket number ready.

* Exception: An exclusive domestic ticket cannot be changed to an international route and an international ticket cannot be changed to a domestic route.

If you buy a new ticket - flexible rebooking options are still available:

For new bookings made until 31 July 2021, all fares of the Lufthansa Group airlines worldwide are changeable without a change fee (except for tickets originating in Japan for travels to Europe). Please refer to the fare rule detail shown in your fare selection screen upon booking at Lufthansa.com. The departure and destination airports can also be changed.* If the rebooked fare is more expensive due to a change of route or a necessary change of travel or booking class, an additional charge may be applicable.

* Exception: An exclusive domestic ticket cannot be changed to an international route and an international ticket cannot be changed to a domestic route.
