Reconfirmation for bookings affected by flight irregularities

Despite the significantly expanded flight schedule, the Lufthansa Group airlines must cancel additional flights from 15 to 30 June 2020. The flight cancellations will be gradually implemented in the booking systems on 28 May 2020.

In order to ensure that the offer corresponds to the current demand, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS and Brussels Airlines are asking all passengers whose bookings are affected by a flight irregularity to confirm that they wish to use the new and/or remaining flights as booked. For this purpose, affected passengers are either contacted by their travel agent or receive an automated email*.

Passengers affected by the flight cancellations can rebook their flight. Alternatively, passengers who wish to change their routing can make a rebooking free of charge.

Meet the expert: Air exchange in the aircraft

These days, air travel is often still associated with uncertainty. However, according to scientific research, airplanes are one of the safest means of transportation with regard to the prevention of corona infections. This is because the air in the aircraft circulates vertically and is cleaned by filters which enable a complete exchange of air within a few minutes. In this video, systems engineer Sebastian Wehrmann explains how the air exchange in the aircraft works.
