Bon Voyage Plastic

Air Canada’s Environmental Affairs, Strategic Initiatives and Product teams have been collaborating on a long-term plastic reduction strategy and they’ve identified more than 100 types of single-use plastics used on our flights. The first item tackled was plastic stir sticks, and this summer we’ll officially say goodbye to plastic stir sticks. They’ll be replaced with a wood alternative in cases where they are required and our service standards will be re-engineered so that stir sticks aren’t used when there’s no need. There will be much more to come as the team’s work continues.
