Change to the OPC calculation at Brussels Airlines

Until now Brussels Airlines has levied an absolute (fixed) OPC for payments made by credit card or PayPal for the purchase of tickets with a point of origin within one of the OPC markets (Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Switzerland and the UK). Brussels Airlines is now switching to a percentage OPC. For point of origin Switzerland, the OPC will therefore, in future, amount to 1.50% of the ticket price; in all other OPC countries it will be 1.65% of the ticket price. Depending on the point of origin country, the maximum OPC amount will be EUR 25 or CHF 30/GBP 20/DKK 190/PLN 110/CZK 680/HUF 7700 per ticket. This means that, in future, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS will calculate the OPC in a consistent way.

The percentage OPC is being introduced on 14 December 2017 (date of ticket issuance) and will continue to be levied automatically in the reservation systems (GDS). The payment methods and point of origin countries to which the OPC applies will remain unchanged.
